Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan RSVP to White House Correspondents Dinner

This post has been corrected. Please see note at bottom for details.

Though the White House Correspondents Dinner has for 98 years been a congregation of political media and the president, it’s also found many a way to cram in celebrities from Hollywood, reality television and beyond.

This year is no exception: invitees include Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan for the Saturday fete, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Kanye West’s love interest will attend as a guest of Fox, as will Lohan. The “Liz & Dick” actress was invited personally by Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren.

“I love comebacks, and I’d like her to succeed,” the anchor told TMZ. Greta’s invite isn’t the only muscle-flexing she’s done surrounding political dinners this year.

When everyman comedian Louis C.K.was tapped to host the Radio & TV Congressional Correspondents Dinner, slated for the summer, Van Susteren unearthed material of his that targeted former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin -- and other barbs she found offensive toward women.

She threatened to boycott the event, and Mr. C.K. dropped out shortly thereafter (thought he denied Greta’s complaints were responsible).

It’s not all drama and B- and C-listers, however. Charlize Theron, Viola Davis, George Clooney, Aziz Ansari and “The Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson are set to attend as well. Check back with the Ministry of Sunday for highlights from Kimmel’s act and the best of the after-parties.

[For the record, 9:19 p.m., April 26: An earlier version of this post said Louis C.K. was tapped to host this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner. The post was updated to reflect that C.K. is slated to host the Radio & TV Congressional Correspondents Dinner.]
