Hef, and painted ladies

Promoter Michael Sutton hosted a cheesecake extravaganza at the Palms Hotel on Saturday in Las Vegas for Hugh Hefner, who partied in his Sky Villa suite with ladies in body paint. Such notables as Jamie Foxx, Gabrielle Union and Boston Celtic Paul Pierce were treated to performances by Mickey Avalon and Tone Loc. Ultimate Fighting Champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson did a drive-by around 3 a.m. after beating Chuck Liddell earlier in the evening.... Steve Fowler’s partner in the upcoming bar at Star Shoes is veteran club owner Steve Goldberg of Club 7969 fame (formerly Peanuts), the burlesque club on Santa Monica Boulevard where such fetish and strip clubs as Sin-A-Matic and Grandville rose to fame. Goldberg says they’ve got a major celebrity investor, but mum’s the word for now.

Promoters trade off

Abbey founder Dave Cooley and Jeffrey Sanker, promoter of gay nightclubs, are hosting Sunday night parties this summer at Area and Privilege. The weekly events begin this Sunday at Privilege. They plan to rotate between the two clubs through Sept. 2.... Woods/Well/NoBar owner Craig Trager says he’s going to trial on June 6 over the loss of his bar Daddy’s, which was the last of the old-school bars at Hollywood and Vine and was demolished two weeks ago. He says although he had six years left on his lease, he lost Daddy’s to eminent domain and now is suing the Community Redevelopment Agency for $1.1 million in lost revenue.... Britpop-loving Club Underground bids Tempest in West Hollywood adieu on Friday night. The weekly club takes a couple of weeks off, then restarts the party at its new digs, the Echo.... Among those scheduled to perform at Wednesday’s premiere party for the film “Punk’s Not Dead” were Channel 3, the God Awfuls and the Diffs. Members of Social Distortion, Green Day, Rancid and Pennywise (all featured in the film) were among the early RSVPs for the show at the Henry Fonda Theatre.... Seemed like a good idea at the time: Rick Calamaro and 944 Magazine hosted a 24-hour party over Sunday and Monday at the Roosevelt Hotel. But you-know-who (just take a gander at x17online.com, if you don’t) ended up photographed in bad shape.

Louie and Netty Ryan (the husband-and-wife team behind Zanzibar, Temple Bar and Little Temple) are revamping the Townhouse in Venice. The Windward Avenue nightclub and former speak-easy has been there since 1915, and the Ryans plan to reopen it in mid-summer.... Katana rings in summer with its fifth annual Red Sun BBQ Garden, which takes place each Sunday night on its deck overlooking the Sunset Strip. KCRW-FM DJ Thomas Golubic brings the noise, while guests can snack on miso-glazed popcorn shrimp and watermelon margaritas. Festivities start at 6.... Dolce Group partner J.T. Torregiani is scheduled to celebrate his birthday tonight at Les Deux in Hollywood. Early RSVPs include Paula Abdul, Hayley Duff, Ryan Cabrera, Tara Reid and “The Hills’ ” Lauren Conrad. We hear Lindsay Lohan’s on the list but might be otherwise occupied. Good luck, kid.
