L.A. artist Jorge Pardo, whose work bridges sculpture and functional design, was commissioned to create an experimental new installation of the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts Pre-Columbian art collection. The result features undulating cases that suggest cavern walls and stacked pedestals that recall stalagmites. A worker readies the display, "Latin American Art: Ancient to Contemporary," which opened July 27 for an indefinite run.
