About 20 animal rights activists clashed with police outside luxury label Fendi’s Paris haute couture show on Wednesday, while inside designer Karl Lagerfeld presented the brand’s signature furs in a multiplicity of forms, including coats, suits, mink pants and more. Later La Fondation Brigitte Bardot claimed credit for the protest. Bardot herself reportedly had tried to stop the show, writing a letter to Lagerfeld’s famously pampered cat Choupette, asking her to intervene.

Meanwhile, John Galliano turned what we might call junk -- plastic bags, burlap -- into couture at his Paris Haute Couture show for Martin Margiela. He even dressed the finale’s bride in plastic bags. And he mixed three male models in drag in with the females, The Cut reports.
