Brigitte Bardot's plea to Choupette doesn't stop Fendi's fur show

About 20 animal rights activists clashed with police outside luxury label Fendi's Paris haute couture show on Wednesday, while inside designer Karl Lagerfeld presented the brand's signature furs in a multiplicity of forms, including coats, suits, mink pants and more. Later La Fondation Brigitte Bardot claimed credit for the protest. Bardot herself reportedly had tried to stop the show, writing a letter to Lagerfeld's famously pampered cat Choupette, asking her to intervene.

Meanwhile, John Galliano turned what we might call junk -- plastic bags, burlap -- into couture at his Paris Haute Couture show for Martin Margiela. He even dressed the finale's bride in plastic bags. And he mixed three male models in drag in with the females, The Cut reports.

Lancome celebrated its 80th birthday on Tuesday night with a party in Paris attended by current and former brand ambassadors. WWD lists Isabella Rossellini, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Penélope Cruz, Lupita Nyong'o, Lily Collins, Daria Werbowy and Alma Jodorowsky among them.

System magazine announced via news release Wednesday that it is publishing a booklet of photos lensman Juergen Teller shot featuring himself, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at the Chateau d’Ambleville in France earlier this year (when Kardashian was going through her blond phase). West reportedly styled the shoot.

Coty Inc. agreed to buy 43 of Proctor & Gamble's beauty brands for $12.5 billion, the companies announced Thursday. The deal makes Coty one of the world's largest beauty companies, giving it Hugo Boss and Gucci fragrances, CoverGirl and Max Factor cosmetics and Wella and Clairol hair color.

Model Chrissy Teigen shot a mischievous photo of her husband John Legend's bare backside and posted it on Instagram.  No word yet if the fairly discreet photo broke the social sharing site.
