Michael Stars launches Artisan Collection to aid Haiti

Michael Stars' new Artisan Collection aims to help Haitian craftspeople

L.A.-based Michael Stars plans on Friday to launch the Artisan Collection, a collaboration with Paula Coles Haiti designed to help artisans in Haiti.

The spring collection is made up of linen anoraks with hand-beaded designs by Haitian artisans. The collection includes four different VeVe (pronounced vay-vay) designs, symbols of Haitian gods and goddesses.

Each jacket retails for $298, $100 of which will be donated to nonprofit organization PRODEV to support education in Haiti.

The jackets are available online and in Michael Stars stores.
