The Fairfax district is officially in flux this summer after longtime fixture Largo closed earlier this month. The beloved music and comedy venue moves to its new space on La Cienega on Monday, where it will start as Largo at the Coronet (owner Mark Flanagan, pictured at the new site, took over the old Coronet Theatre). Singer Aimee Mann will perform the opening show… . So what is going into the old Largo space? All we can tell you so far is that the new owners will not pursue a live music venue or comedy club at 432 N. Fairfax Ave. It’s not yet known what style of bar (or restaurant) will go into the space, either – just that the venue has been looked at by everyone from the owners of the nearby Dime bar to famed chef Mario Batali over the last month… . A few doors down at 426 N. Fairfax, a new restaurant and wine/beer bar called the Golden State is set to open. Owners Jason Bernstein and James Starr say Golden State (formerly Nova Express) will feature “the best from all over the state”: Cali-made food, beer and wine, and locally made sausages, cheese and more. Starr, who once worked at Enoteca Drago in Beverly Hills, will oversee the wine purchasing, while Bernstein will handle the beer. “We’re looking to feature locally brewed beer from outlets like Craftsman Brewing Co. out of Pasadena,” he says. The duo is shooting for an August debut… . In non-Fairfax news: Downtown dive bar Charlie O’s is in the middle of “renovations.” The bar has been closed since May 12 and is slated to reopen this summer.
