“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James is launching a collection of wines inspired by her racy novels. Apparently the author has a thing for wine-making as well as inducing housewives around the world to swoon for a fictional Christian Grey with a twitchy palm paddle.

If you’ll actually admit to reading any of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” novels, and don’t pretend you’ve never heard of them, you know wine plays a large part in the book. For one thing, the characters are always drinking it.

James teamed up with California’s North Coast winemakers to personally blend the Fifty Shades of Grey Red Satin and White Silk wines. Both feature the advertising tag line “You are mine.”

“I’ve always had a penchant for good wine, so combining two of my passions to blend Red Satin and White Silk was a natural extension of the Fifty Shades trilogy,” James wrote on a website for the wines. “I hope all of you curl up with a glass as you enjoy the romance between Anastasia and Christian.”

According to the website, the Grey Red Satin is a blend of Petite Sirah and Syrah that has been aged in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels. The tasting notes include black cherry, cocoa powder, caramel, vanilla, leather and clove spice.

The White Silk wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, aged in stainless steel, and is meant to have floral aromatics of lychee, honey and pear, crisp grapefruit, mineral and butterscotch.

Both wines are available at www.FiftyShadesWine.com for $17.99, and are to hit select Albertsons stores and other retailers nationwide in October.

And in case you’re wondering, handcuffs are not included.
