Got questions about breast cancer care? Join Wednesday online chat with patient navigators

Share

Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients have a lot of questions, and “patient navigators” can help them find answers.

The American Cancer Society even provides these healthcare workers free to help cancer patients figure out everything from second opinons to insurance billing procedures.

Join a live online chat at 9 a.m. PDT on Wednesday with patient navigators Wendi Johnson and Laurie Jesz, who will be discussing “What you should know about breast cancer care.” (If you miss the chat, you can find a transcript in the Live Chat Transcripts From Health archives.)

The chat is hosted by the Newport News Daily Press. A recent story in that paper, “Navigating breast cancer care,” describes the role of navigators as “a mix of social work, medical advice, cheerleader and nurse.”
