Golden hour hike
John Megliorino sees the Victory Trailhead in West Hills as an escape from the developed San Fernando Valley.
Last week, he wanted to capture the pre-Halloween sunset and a particular bush he passes on his hikes.
He set out an hour before sunset -- the photographer’s golden hour -- giving him great ambient light to capture the scenes of nature as he saw them.
He came back with a calm sunset and a lens flare encircling his botanical subject. Victory Trailhead is “a beautiful environment to photograph,” he says.
Megliorino used a Canon 5D Mark ii.
