Reader Photo: Looking for a leg to stand on

Share

Photos often have a simple, straightforward answer to what’s happening in the image; sometimes, however, a story is not so simple to construct.

Take today’s SoCal Moments image: the Venice Beach skate park, a prosthetic leg and no owner in sight.

Unfortunately, photographer Rafael Aragones had no answers about the story behind the photo, writing in an email that the prosthesis “was lying under the sun, unclaimed.”

Fortunately, not having an answer does allow for the mind to wander a bit, to think up a reason for a leg to be left behind in a skate park.

Aragones took this photo with an iPhone and edited it using VSCOcam.
