Appeals court to decide which Nguyen wins
A state appeals court will weigh in on which Nguyen won the Feb. 7 election for a seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
Garden Grove City Councilwoman Janet Nguyen was declared the winner after a recount, a decision upheld by Superior Court Judge Michael Brenner.
Michael Schroeder, a lawyer for Garden Grove schools trustee Trung Nguyen, appealed the decision Wednesday, arguing that Brenner had misinterpreted the law in assessing how the recount was conducted.
Janet Nguyen’s campaign must respond by April 20.
