Perhaps part of your gift was the complete absence of self pity with which you recounted what could have been told with great biiterness as "our nightmare"; then too, your love and acceptance - of this wonderful, lovable, little girl whose life challenges you never question as being yours too.
Her mother's voice as she recounted her own feelings at watching Caitlin's sorrow when watching her little friends run off to play carelessly - as she herself will never be able to. I felt your pain with you and with Caitlin; for those moments she became my daughter too.
Her laughter will also remain with me. I love and admire you all.
Amanda
