Youngest woman in space: A news brief in Wednesday’s Section A identified South Korean astronaut Yi So-yeon, 29, as the world’s youngest female astronaut. Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova was 26 when she became the world’s first woman to fly to space on June 16, 1963.
