Man is badly hurt in apartment fire
From a Times staff writer
A blaze that raced through two units of an apartment complex early Saturday left a man critically injured, fire officials said.
Authorities were called to a 12-unit apartment complex in the 24000 block of Stanhope about 3 a.m.
It took nearly 30 firefighters an hour to extinguish the blaze, which investigators said started while someone was cooking.
Damage was estimated at $380,000.
The injured man, whose name and age were not released, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, according to officials.
