Justice Scalia Not Fit to Serve on the Court

Share

Re “Scalia Was Cheney Hunt Trip Guest; Ethics Concern Grows,” Feb. 5: Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia should step down from the Supreme Court. If he cannot discern the ethical implications of his two-day hunting trip with Vice President Dick Cheney, he is not competent to serve on the highest court in the land.

This trip with Cheney, and Scalia’s unwillingness to acknowledge that a vacation with Cheney would affect his judgment on the issue of Cheney’s energy policy task force case, illustrates that he is not worthy of the position of Supreme Court justice. It also illustrates the tremendous corruption in the Bush administration. Cheney’s invitation to Scalia erases any concept of checks and balances in our government.
