KEYS TO THE GAME

Share

1Ducks at the corners. Oregon is expected to start two redshirt freshmen cornerbacks, Walter Thurmond and Jairus Byrd. They will be tested by a steady group of UCLA wide receivers, led by seniors Junior Taylor, Andrew Baumgartner and Matt Willis, and juniors Brandon Breazell and Marcus Everett.

2Power running. UCLA and Oregon both like to run the ball and whichever offense has the most success will have an edge in the game. The Bruins will rely on Chris Markey and Kahlil Bell in their ground attack; the Ducks count on Jonathan Stewart and Jeremiah Johnson.

3Sack attacks. UCLA features two of the Pac-10’s top pass rushers, Justin Hickman and Bruce Davis. Oregon also has a solid force in defensive end Dexter Manley, who leads the Ducks in sacks.
