USC’s top two receiver spots are occupied by proven talents -- Biletnikoff Award winner Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor.

Freshman Darreus Rogers is making a push for the No. 3 spot.

Rogers, who played at Carson High, is competing against senior De’Von Flournoy and sophomore Victor Blackwell, the only other scholarship receivers on the roster who are not injured.

Junior George Farmer and freshman Steven Mitchell are recovering from knee surgeries and will redshirt.

Coach Lane Kiffin said the competition for the No. 3 spot would continue, but Rogers has impressed.

“He’s kind of made a significant play every day,” Kiffin said, “and we’re really excited about how he looks out there.”
