I lived in Paris as a young man and Mr. Hemingway is so right. Paris never leaves your soul, you always come back to it, even when you don't expect it.

The Eiffel Tower is too far west for a really good panorama. The Tour Montparnasse is a much better choice, not least because when you're standing on top of it, you can't see what a butt ugly building it is.
