‘Project Runway’ 7 to be a hi-def ‘hot mess’

It may seem like Season Six of ‘Project Runway’ wrapped just yesterday (it was actually last month), but the start date -- and contestant lineup -- for Season Seven is already being announced.

The show is slated to return to Lifetime on Jan. 14, at 10 p.m. and followed by the sophomore season of ‘Models of the Runway’ at 11. The same old gang (Klum, Gunn, Kors and Garcia) are back, along with a new crop of contestants. They are:

There’s a new wrinkle (or perhaps several) in the upcoming run, which was taped in New York City: It will be the first season available in high definition, allowing every last slipped stitch, spilled tear and sewing-machine-lanced digit to pop with sharpness and vivid color.
