Ahead of the trend: hair barrettes

Ever since I saw barrettes on the runway for spring 2011, I’ve been obsessed. The jeweled barrettes from the Chanel runway (top left) and hand-carved wood barrettes from the Rodarte runway (bottom left) won’t be available for a few months yet. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get a jump on the trend.

FranceLuxe.com is a great source for barrettes right now. For the holidays, I particularly like the L. Erickson crystal leaves ($98, above right), which would look pretty with a side part as seen at Rodarte, and the satin bows ($42, bottom right) on a sleek ponytail as seen at Chanel.
