L.A native Kazu Namise has the kind of thick and glossy hair that makes you wonder what supplements she’s taking or what magic contraption she’s got fastened to her shower head to mitigate the city’s hard water. Turns out that about 10 years ago, she tapped into a formula of hair-saving and growing ingredients that until now has remained largely under wraps.

Namise and her business partner Kidada Jones have just launched a hair care line called Phylia de M., which contains what she calls the “Phylia Trifecta” --a blend of organic aloe, tanic acid and fulvic acid grown and developed by Namise’s scientist godfather that is the little secret that’s given her such enviable hair for the past decade.

After years of using her godfather’s self-harvested ingredients (she says he has a ranch and lab in Mexico where he’s developed the biotechnology to harvest the botanicals and create the “Phylia Trifecta”), she’s turned the little potion into her own hair care line, which claims to renew and repair the body’s own cellular activity so hair gets really clean while also absorbing nutrients.

“The ingredients work for re-growing the hair, stopping shedding and making what you already have thicker,” Namise says.

The line, which launched in mid-December, consists of a shampoo, conditioner and a spray used after washing hair called Connect. “The spray solution is really the star,” says Namise. “It helps stop the hair from shedding and gives it strength and volume.”

The all-natural, paraben- and sulfate free-products smell like orange blossoms and are available at local trendy spots including Satine, Byron and Tracey salon and the Andy Lecompte salon in West Hollywood. No doubt that those celeb-heavy spots will attract some customers intent on keeping their hair looking its best.

Clean (shampoo for scalp & hair), 8oz., $35; Condition (conditioner for hair), 8oz., $40; Connect (treatment for follicles, scalp & hair), 4oz., $60. Travel Trio (2 oz. sizes), $50
