As an announcer implored celebrities to take their seats at the Golden Globes just before the show started at 5 p.m., there was a crush of famous flesh as the final moments ticked down to broadcast. The scene was something resembling Mad Libs -- who would put these people together?

P. Diddy, Jeremy Irons and Zac Efron, for instance, arrived in one clump, while Tilda Swinton, looking long and lean, whisked in right next to Bruce Willis, who had to lean back to avoid a passing waiter’s tray that nearly clipped his chiseled chin.

Warren Beatty and Jane Fonda, though, seemed perfectly logical as they paraded in at the wire.

Sofia Vergara from the TV show ‘Modern Family’ rushed in -- as much as she could rush in her red, floor- length gown -- nearly pushing aside a teenage boy. Meanwhile, a less-frazzled Jon Hamm of ‘Mad Men’ high-fived folks as he descended the stairs to find his table.

The best mash-up table? Tim Allen, Halle Berry and Justin Bieber were seated together for their black risotto parmesan and sesame-crusted sea bass.
