According to the L.A. Times’ weather forecast, Sunday will be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 50 to 63 degrees, but the Screen Actors Guild Awards are preparing for rain, just in case. Below are scenes outside the Shrine Auditorium on Thursday afternoon as work crews prepare for the SAG kudofest. Notice that clear tenting has been stretched over scaffolding in case protection for the red carpet is needed. Also notice, in the second photo below, that no red carpet is yet put down in the limo drop-off spot. There’s just a raised platform constructed to receive the parade of celebs. That’s unusual for some award shows. Typically, the Oscars have their carpet down four days ahead of time.

Carpeting is at the Shrine, as you can see in the third photo below –- it’s just still rolled up. Meantime, a worker uses the empty space in the walkway area to hose down a floor mat from his car.
