At the massive U.S. military base at Al Asad, the military brass is determined to stop speeding. Troops get lectures about not driving too fast. There are posters. There are even videos on the televisions in the chow hall during meals.

But inevitably, there are offenders. Now the Army has decided public shaming might act as a deterrent. Which explains why two young soldiers were standing at a busy intersection near the PX and Burger King holding signs that read, ‘I Was Caught Speeding.’

There was similar punishment for the soldier responsible for the two. His sign said: ‘My Soldiers Were Caught Speeding.’
