Libyan rebel commandos nearly caught Moammar Kadafi on Wednesday, French magazine Paris-Match reported Thursday.
The commandos believe Kadafi is still somewhere in the Libyan capital, the magazine said on its website, citing a source in a unit that it said was coordinating between the rebels and the intelligence services of Arab states. The report cited an unnamed “reliable source.”
Agents acting on a tip found signs of Kadafi in an unassuming safe house they raided in central Tripoli at Wednesday morning, according to the magazine. It appeared that the 69-year-old leader had spent at least one night there, Paris-Match said. ‘So,’ the report said, ‘The hunt continues.’
