Director James Toback’s film portrait of that ear-biting, pigeon-keeping, alleged beauty pageant contestant rapist, and former heavyweight champion of the world known as Mike Tyson is one of the most discussed titles at Cannes. (Man or animal? Victim or perp? Spousal abuser? “Yes.” Rapist? “No.”)

In the clip above, Tyson recalls legendary boxing trainer Cus D’Amato, a man whom Tyson considered a mentor, a father and the person who taught him to mercilessly use his fear against his opponents.
