Like most Hollywood stories, this one probably won’t have a surprise ending.

The Screen Actors Guild will tally results tomorrow in what has been one of the most contentious contract ratification votes in years. Although supported by the union’s executive director and the board majority, the contract was opposed by its president, Alan Rosenberg, who led a vigorous opposition campaign.

Nonetheless, sources close to the union expect the new two-year contract will pass, although not with the overwhelming support of the union’s 120,000 members, who are bitterly divided over contract terms.

Ed Harris helped Tom Hanks return to earth in ‘Apollo 13,’ but even they didn’t see eye to eye on the contract. Hanks recorded a video message in support of the contract, while Harris recorded his own message opposing it. ‘Houston: we have a problem.’
