Artist Jeff Koons designs a label -- with balloons, of course -- for a skin-care product

Jeff Koons loves balloons. So much so that when Kiehl’s Since 1851 -- the beauty-and-health apothecary -- asked him to help the rainforests by creating a label for one of its skin-care products, the artist’s inflatable imagery figured prominently in the result.
Koons and three other guest designers -- actress Julianne Moore, musician Pharrell Williams and pro surfer Malia Jones -- have produced limited-edition labels for Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist.
The New York-based company says it plans to donate 100% of net proceeds from sales of the spritzers to the Rainforest Alliance, which promotes conservation and sustainable business practices.
Bottles of the toning mist are available online or will be in stores starting April 1 -- just in time for Earth Day.
Koons has seen his designs pop up in unusual places before. One notable example: a giant silver bunny balloon -- inspired by his stainless steel sculpture Rabbit -- that made its debut in the 2007 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, winding through the streets of New York.
