A Polaroid photograph of the late Dennis Hopper, taken by fellow actor Jason Lee, was stolen from a small Los Angeles art gallery on Friday, and a reward of $25,000 is being offered by Lee to anyone who can bring it back. News of the theft was posted on the gallery’s website over the weekend.

The theft apparently occurred Friday evening after an opening-night reception at This Los Angeles, located in Highland Park. The group show, titled ‘These Friends,’ featured works by a number of artists, including the 8-by-10 Hopper Polaroid (pictured) taken by Lee.

The gallery said the theft took place ‘after the crowds had left and we were cleaning up ... someone stole a piece off the wall and bolted out the front door.’

The gallery said the photograph was not for sale and that Lee had loaned it out for the show. Lee, whose credits include the TV show ‘My Name Is Earl,’ is ‘extremely sentimental’ about the photo, the gallery said.

‘The thief can come forward anonymously and charges won’t be pressed against him,’ the gallery said on its website. People with information are asked to call (323) 747-5301 or e-mail this@thislosangeles.com.
