-- Fill ‘er up. And the car, too: With slim profit margins on gas, station owners are turning to food to boost revenue. And the fare has evolved beyond hot dogs and pizza to include croissants, paninis, salads and breakfast burritos.
-- Talk about extreme eating. The thrifty-minded blog Get Rich Slowly pointed us to a coupon blogger and expert shopper who ate ‘well’ on just $1 a day. Actually, he spent less than that: He paid $27.08 for $597.96 worth of food in the month of May. -- $250 for a bottle of wine? What a bargain! Seriously. Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills is launching Wine Wednesdays: Through September, each bottle of wine purchased with an entree on a Wednesday will be half price. (Bottles on the wine list range from $50 to $500.)
