Hallelujah, a church cookbook from Torrance

The First United Methodist Church of Torrance, formed in 1921, has collected some of the best recipes from church members and clergy from over the years into a cookbook called “Hallelujah, Let’s Eat” to raise money for the church’s planned expansion.

Given Torrance’s history as a melting pot of the South Bay, the book includes 400 recipes covering a wide variety of cuisines -- Filipino, Guamanian, Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, British, Swedish, Italian, French, Mediterranean, Irish, Mexican and “even Vegan,” according to a press release.


“Hallelujah, Let’s Eat,” costs $15 plus $3 shipping and is available from the church website.
