Czech President Vaclav Klaus issued a challenge to former Vice President Al Gore: debate him about Global Warming. Klaus, who penned a book criticizing the economic costs of cutting carbon, says green is the new red.
‘In the past it was in the name of the masses (or of the Proletariat), this time in the name of the Planet. Structurally, it is very similar. I see the current danger in environmentalism and especially in its strongest version, climate alarmism,’ he told the National Press Club.
Klaus carries water for the National Center for Policy Analysis, a nonprofit organization aiming to ‘develop and promote private alternatives to government regulation and control.’ The group’s ‘E-team’ is stocked with scholars who have been highly skeptical about global warming. It has received $465,900 from ExxonMobil since 1998, according to www.exxonsecrets.org
No word yet from the Gore camp.
