L.A. Times TV critic Mary McNamara gives Conan O’Brien some applause for his ‘Tonight Show’ debut last night, but design geeks, of course, are fixated on the set, a mix of old and new Hollywood. I’m slightly amused by a blog post (not here!) that credits the new curtain to ‘the design duo of Hutton Wilkinson and Tony Duquette’ -- quite a feat considering that Duquette died in 1999. The fabric is a silk-rayon blend called Golden Sunburst, and it was designed by Wilkinson, Duquette’s former business partner, now owner and creative director of Tony Duquette Inc. Home staff writer David A. Keeps first reported on Wilkinson’s new fabric collection in February. If you love Golden Sunburst, check out the website of manufacturer Jim Thompson.

My colleagues who work on real estate coverage put together a photo gallery of O’Brien’s Brentwood house.
