Father’s Day gift idea No. 1: Give new meaning to the phrase “on the rocks” when Dad pours a few ounces of his favorite spirits over these Whisky Stones. Designed by Andrew Hellmann of Teroforma but inspired by an age-old concept from Scandinavia, the soapstone cubes can be stored in your freezer until cocktail hour. The stones are mined and milled by Vermont Soapstone, a 150-year-old quarry. Washable and reusable, the cubes can cool wine, drams, single malts and more without diluting the drink. Soapstone is dense but soft, so it won’t scratch glass or crystal with regular use. The frozen cubes, each 7/8-inches square, can chill small bar drinks but not tall glasses of tea or juice. A box of nine sells for $20 at Fitzsu in Los Angeles.
