Dozens of photographers, video artists, jewelry designers, steampunk craftspeople and DJs converge on Saturday, Sept. 26, for Create Fixate’s sixth annual all-photography show, ‘SnapFlash.’

Among them will be photographer and illustrator Rebecca Johnson, who created the striking ‘Beauty’s Folly’ shown here, which will be sold in various formats. An 18-inch-square giclee print is $110; a mounted version covered in beeswax for an antiqued appearance, sells for $500.

‘It’s based on turn-of-the-century spirit pictures, where photographers used darkroom manipulation to convince people they could capture ghostly images of the departed,’ Johnson says. Just the thing for folks with button-tufted wing chairs.

The one-day event at 613 Imperial St. in downtown L.A. begins with a gallery preview from 4 to 7 p.m. (A $5 donation is requested.) Admission from 7 to 10 p.m. is $15; $20 thereafter.

‘As the night goes on, it becomes more of a party,’ Johnson says.
