Poliform, the Italian design firm that helped make sleek walk-in closet components a Hollywood status symbol, recently remodeled its showroom. The nearly 8,000-square-foot space in West Hollywood’s suitably upscale design district got extensive renovations that give it the feel of a luxury loft, and space to show off new product lines.

The store not only showcases Poliform’s classic closets but also has kitchens by Varenna (acquired by Poliform in 1996) that feature minimalist cabinetry by top European designers including Christian Liaigre.

The full range of tables, chairs, upholstered pieces and accessories express Poliform’s intention to be a one-stop shopping destination -- at least for the well-heeled who park Louboutin shoes on wenge-finished shelves. Case in point: The made-in-Italy bedside tables above are just shy of $1,700 apiece, and the fabric-upholstered platform bed is more than $5,000. (Want leather? Double the price.)

Poliform’s furniture complements the look of its high-end wardrobes and storage units. Over the past two years, the firm also has commissioned contemporary designers (including Marcel Wanders and Paola Navone) to produce collections now newly available in L.A.

Navone’s appealing line features witty modern pieces including Bug, a club chair with the stretch-your-legs length of a chaise. It is also available as the Big Bug, the snuggle-up love seat shown at right. The cost? An I-can-dream-can’t-I $10,600.

Poliform, 8818 Beverly Blvd., West Hollywood. (310) 271-7836. Open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
