The Mother’s Day pitches have been arriving fast and furious here, with suggestions spanning vacuum cleaners to doughnut hole makers (true story).
A new contest sponsored by the Atwater Village store Potted, however, puts the focus on something mom might really appreciate: creativity.
Potted’s first-ever container gardening contest offers a surplus of great ideas to steal, and for the winner, a $500 shopping spree at the home and garden store. Here is how it works:
Simply snap a photo of your favorite container planting. It can be anything you like -- a tea kettle, a vintage dog food container (shown above), a tackle box. The only stipulations: The container must have at least one plant and you must take your own photo.
Email your photos to info@pottedstore.com through May 26. Images will be posted every Friday on Potted’s blog, where readers can vote for their favorites. Each week’s winner -- there will be five -- will be entered into the final contest June 3. The winner will receive a $500 shopping spree at the Atwater store on June 10. (Note: You don’t need to live in the Los Angeles area to participate).
