‘Arson dog’ may lose his job

It seems that San Bernardino firefighters have been using a dog named Diesel to sniff out clues at suspected arson scenes. But Diesel may be about to lose his job because of budget cuts.

And the San Bernardino Sun has more details. Diesel is a ‘goldador’ (a mix of golden retriever and Labrador). The good-looking blond with a Fire Department badge attached to his collar is trained to sniff out petroleum-based chemicals.

KCAL-TV Channel 9 has a video report on Diesel. His annual tab is about $20,000 and authorities are hoping some extra fund-raising might allow him to stay.
