If you’re super-cute tennis star Andy Roddick, it seems you can indeed use the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue as a catalog from which to select a mate.

As revealed on David Letterman‘s show Monday night, the extraordinarily lovely Brooklyn Decker is the 2010 SI swimsuit issue cover girl. But her 2007 appearance in the mag might have been her most life-changing: Andy spotted her photo and decided he just had to meet her. So he had his agent place his order -- um, rather, had his agent contact the lovely future Mrs. Roddick.

And the rest is history.

Note to most human guys: This technique will not work for you.

Note to most human gals: We hope you paid close attention to all those constructively critical Super Bowl ads. Andy is sponsored by Lexus, not Dodge -- and why is that? There’s a lesson here.

Note to Letterman: Not all Republicans are governors. Scott Brown is the new senator from Massachusetts.
