Charlie Sheen has checked out of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is headed home to Los Angeles, multiple sources reported Tuesday.

Sheen’s former wife Denise Richards, who thanked people Tuesday on Twitter for their ‘supportive and kind messages’ and said it was ‘very difficult’ to do press for ‘Blue Mountain State,’ told Joy Behar on CNN that although she knew what had happened in the adjoining Plaza Hotel room and had gone to the hospital with Sheen, she didn’t want to discuss it.

Richards also said she’d never let the girls’ father around them if he were drunk.

Sheen’s publicist, who said earlier in the day that his client would be hospitalized until Wednesday, released a statement Tuesday evening that the ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor was L.A.-bound. Other than Sheen’s catch and release in New York, ‘everything else is speculation,’ the rep said.

Police said Sheen appeared ‘intoxicated’ in the hotel’s Eloise Suite; he was reportedly offered a choice of hospitalization or arrest. Sheen’s rep said the actor had had an ‘adverse allergic reaction’ to medication.

Life & Style magazine published an unnamed ‘eyewitness’ account of Sheen having dinner with friends, including the alleged escort who later called authorities, on Monday night -- saying that Richards stopped by, but ‘looked like she had enough’ and took off.

Moving forward, the actor will work on a short scene for a friend’s film, then return to shooting his sitcom next week, TMZ said. Oh, he also reportedly knows he screwed up, but wants to ‘move on.’
