Was it really a year ago that Chris Brown had his first probation hearing, after pleading guilty in August 2009 to felony assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna?

Why yes it was! And Brown got another positive report from Judge Patricia Schnegg just a day shy of the one-year anniversary of his first probation progress report with her.

‘Out of thousands of probationers, no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have, and I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you,’ Schnegg told Brown during a brief hearing Thursday in downtown L.A.

The R&B singer has gotten nothing but kudos from the court since he was sentenced in August 2009 to five years’ probation and 180 days of community labor, which he’s doing in his home state of Virginia. Brown assaulted Rihanna on Feb. 8, 2009, the night before the Grammy Awards. He checked in with the judge in February, May and August as well.
