Vanessa Minnillo bringing a new name -- Lachey -- to next TV gig

Vanessa Minnillo will put something fresh on the screen when she joins ‘Winter Wipeout’ in January: a new name, Vanessa Lachey.

She tweeted it Friday and confirmed it Sunday on the American Music Awards red carpet: The relatively newlywed missus is taking hubby Nick Lachey’s last name, legally and professionally. The couple got married in July, capturing the event for a reality-TV special.

Regarding the name change, she wrote on Twitter: ‘So.... I’m making it official, and I LOVE my ‘new name’! @VanessaLachey .... has a nice ring to it ;-)’

The soon-to-be-former Minnillo has joined the ‘Wipeout’ gang as host, now that Jill Wagner has moved to ‘Teen Wolf.’ ‘Winter Wipeout’ premieres Jan. 5.
