South Bay: Best Sales Month in a Year

Item: Self-described ‘economic grizzly bear’ who publishes a bubble-watching blog about the South Bay says March was a strong month for sales and prices in north Redondo Beach, El Segundo and Hermosa Beach.

This is consistent with an emerging trend here and across the country: the real estate market is weakening fastest in lower-income areas that catered to first-time home-buyers. As JFK said, life is not fair.

The South Bay Beach Cities Housing Bubble blog is worth a look: numbers-oriented with a ton of useful links to every manner of real estate site. And when the numbers don’t fit the publisher’s bearish sentiment, well, she sticks with the numbers: ‘March looks like it was the best month that Redondo Beach (and) the beach cities ... have had in at least a year,’ she writes, adding, ‘So the realtors that have been through a bit of famine are now feasting.’
