Good morning. There have been some coffee-spillingly witty comments already in ’08 (I liked the one warning that some big lenders are at risk of going ‘mammaries vertical’). But with 99% of the precincts reporting, the winner in a landslide of the L.A. Land Best Comment Primary is dog-walker, who wrote early this morning:

‘Off thread.

‘I’ve been away. Stopped in at Cedars for a week and came home with a baby. Wow! If you haven’t done it and are thinking about it, don’t wait. That’s all I can say. It’s by far the insanely best ever.

‘Puts an angle on the discussions here, too. Like, life is more important than life-style. And it comes in a tent, on a boat, by day, by rain, on surprise, with blood, with gifts, with confusion, under a roof of stone, under a thatched roof, under no roof, in peace, in war, in apartment complexes, ‘airline views’ estates, alleyways, living rooms, backseats, labor beds, wanted, unwanted.

‘I don’t know what the government will do. I do know that I will be saving everything I can, diversifying assets and preparing for the worst. I believe the old investment verities never die. They just hide from time to time behind the mask of something new under the sun, which my slimy, naked, emergent boy reminded me that there is not.’

Congratulations Dog-Walker, and the entire walker family. Comments are welcome on this one, but as my mother used to say, if you don’t have something nice to say, button your lip, buster.
