Warm weather, swimming pool, foreclosure, abandoned house, neglected pool, mosquitoes. You get the picture. But did you know about the mosquito fish?

The Orange County Register today:
‘The county’s animal disease trackers say that pools in many Orange County houses emptied by foreclosures become perfect mosquito breeding grounds as they grow stagnant.’

Now the fish: ‘Vector Control technicians find an estimated 60 to 70 green pools a week, though not all are a result of foreclosures. They treat the mosquito problem by releasing mosquito fish into the pools.’
