With heavy rains predicted for the next few days, L.A. County fire officials are warning of mudslides and handing out sandbags.

The county urges residents to take a number of precautionary steps, including assessing your home or business to see whether you’re in the path of a potential slide, making sure there’s proper drainage, and clearing trash and debris from drainage areas or rain gutters. They also say to keep up on local news reports. More tips and a list of where to obtain sandbags are at the county’s website.
