A half day for stocks on Wednesday, but a full day Friday

Just an FYI, for those who are planning year-end stock trades: U.S. markets will close Wednesday at 10 a.m. PST, allowing Wall Street traders to get out of town early on Christmas Eve.

But stock markets will be open for a full session on Friday, even though activity is certain to be muted the day after Christmas.

Next week, stock markets will be open for full sessions on New Year’s Eve and on Friday Jan. 2, the first trading day of 2009.
