BabySwede and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling bouncing baby chairs because they pose a laceration hazard.

About 6,500 BabyBjörn Babysitter Balance and BabyBjörn Babysitter Balance Air bouncer chairs need to be returned to the Cleveland-based company. According to the media release, small sharp metal objects found in the padded area of the chair can jut out and potentially cut small children. No injuries have been reported to the company or the safety agency.

A full list of the afftected models can be found on the release.

The products were sold from September 2008 to July 2009 at baby product retailers and merchants nationwide as well as online. The Babysitter Balance sold for about $170 and the Babysitter Balance Air for about $190.

The safety commission urges consumers to stop using the chairs and contact BabySwede for instructions on how to return them for inspection and relabeling. If metal pieces are found during the inspection, the consumer will receive a new product.
