Report finds Justice Department unready for WMD attack

The Justice Department’s inspector general has found that the department is not fully prepared to respond to an attack involving a weapon of mass destruction.

The inspector general’s report says the department hasn’t assigned one entity responsibility for central oversight in responding to a WMD incident.

The report issued Tuesday says no law enforcement component in the department besides the FBI has operational response plans in place for a WMD incident.
