Earthquake: 5.3 quake strikes near Marston, MO

A shallow magnitude 5.3 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon two miles from Marston, MO, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 5:15 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was two miles from Howardville, MO, three miles from Lilbourn, MO, 101 miles from Memphis, TN and 148 miles from St. Louis, MO.

In the past ten days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
